Organic Krush is located in Amagansett, NY. Like Amagansett itself, Organic Krush is a cool, laid-back spot in the Hamptons. They offer a great selection of healthy eats. It's perfect for grabbing something quick and heading to the beach or hanging out at one of their picnic tables. The fun and comedic-style service led by Ricardo adds an extra special touch. The entire staff is friendly, remembers you by name and are always happy to see you. The menu has a great selection of Organic Krush originals and a large section to customize your own. Everything from smoothies, soups, salads, wraps and bowls. The food is excellent. Everything has a great flavor and is cooked perfectly.
Alison and I each had smoothies which were extra yummy. They were blended to perfection with notable combinations. We also customized a rice and vegetable bowl with steak and avocado to share. The portions are generous, perfect for sharing, especially if you want to try a variety of their options. We received stellar picnic table-service from Ricardo. * Bonus! Everything is organic and fresh!

1. Restaurant Name, and Date Opened
Organic Krush; our first location opened in Woodbury, NY, May 2015; our second location was the Hamptons, July of 2017; we have a 3rd location planned to open at the end of this year in Plainview, NY.
2. How did Organic Krush decide to create such a healthy restaurant?
My partner Fran and I were traveling along the east coast with our teenage kids, going to concerts like Taylor Swift and One Direction; we were in the car for hours and wanted places to eat with our teenage girls, HEALTHY fast food, food without pesticides, GMO's, chemicals, hormones added in.. And, we couldn't find anywhere to stop; we had a moment after a few days of frustration in which we just said, "we can do this ourselves."
3. Have you seen the demand for this type of eating really grow over the years? Do you see a growing trend?
In the three years we have been open, the customer has started to care more and more about the clean and pure eating options; its thrilling for us, everything we offer is certified organic; we make our dressings in-house, our cold-pressed juices, our gluten-free bakery; the customers really cares about everything they put in their bodies because they have made the connection that what they eat has a direct impact on how they feel.
4. What is the most important ethos behind your food? Cooking techniques, quality of the food, etc. (The taste was great, always an added bonus to eating healthy).
Deliciousness is really important to us; ourr partner Jimmy Tchinnis of Swallow Restaurant is a fantastic chef and he was part of many of our recipes; Fran and I come from Italian families. Food is always meant to be delicious tasting yet high quality; we source food that is top-notch, therefore the dishes taste fresh and bright. Our meats come from small family farms, our shrimp from sustainable farming; our fruit is always whole fruit for smoothies, pure and fresh produce for the cold press juices.
5. Do you find it difficult to source everything organically?
Its a time commitment for sure; we have to go to source from quite a few vendors to find what we need in order to offer the huge variety of products we sell.
6. Do you work with specific local farms or any hydroponic greenhouses?
We source sprouts and microgreens (major health foods!) from hydroponic growers and our vendors use the local farms when products are in season!
7.Is there anything else we should know about the business that is environmentally or socially conscious?
I am part of a film company called Atlas Films; we make documentary films. Tapped is about the horrific damage that comes to the earth and humans due to plastic water bottles; Fed Up is a film about the sugar industry and its corruption to our food supply and our bodies; The most recent film, Devil We Know, was about the secretive world of Teflon and the communities that have had their health destroyed by this chemical. We have been a part of the GMO-labeling moving since its inception; we care deeply about the environement; all of our juices are sold in reusable glass bottles ; all of our takeout ware is compostable; any palstic we do purchase is made of recylced content plastic; its up to all of us as individuals to commit to small choices in our daily life that value the limited resources of the earth; we all need to minimize our impact, for our personal health (plastic adds so many toxins to your body burden) and for the health of our planet; We want to swim in oceans and breathe clean air FOREVER; it starts with personal choice.
8. Are the buildings LEEDS certified, are you a B-Corp? The use of advanced energy saving technology? Contribute to non-profits in any way or support the local community?
We contribute to No Child Hungry and to Long Island Cares, as well as a hundred local charities each year at schools, churches, synagogues, sports teams, theatre groups, etc.
9. Do you live a healthy lifestyle, practice what they preach? It seems passion for health can drive success when dealing with healthy locally owned restaurants. Is there more to the family background in regards to health and food? Any nutritionists, etc?
This is my favorite question! The Organic Krush lifestyle is our life , and our families' lives!!! I graduated college with a double degree in health and women's studies ; I drew up my first business plan to open a smoothie shop, twenty years ago; it took us a bit of time to implement but here we are! Recently I spent a year studying health coaching at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and also through Brooklyn Culinary Arts! We are borderline obsessed with healthy living for ourselves and our families and our communities! Our mission to to change the game of fast food casual; we are determined to bring healthy, pure, clean living to communities around the country! (and maybe world :)
