Maybe you’ve perused the aisles of a metaphysical shop, or maybe you’re a full-on crystal “junkie.” Whatever your experience with crystals, it’s safe to say that a new era of holistic beauty is upon us, and crystals are center stage. Surprisingly enough, this high-vibe beauty trend is actually an age-old practice. As an ancient medicine, crystals have been used to cultivate glowing skin, stimulate circulation, fight inflammation, and neutralize negative energies.

Over 5,000 years ago, Chinese culture began incorporating the use of crystals in acupuncture to restore health and improve circulation. In Traditional Ayurveda, sapphires were used for mental and emotional balancing, while jasper was used to enhance sexual vitality. In Ancient Egypt, crystals were widely used for health and beauty. Egyptians wore rubies to enhance their sex appeal and quartz to balance their chakras. Cleopatra herself even ground up Lapis Lazuli to create her own alluring eye shadow.

Crystals are a powerful beauty tool due to their ability to help create harmony and balance in the body, fostering health, alignment, and a radiant glow from within. When our physical bodies are in harmony, we look and feel more beautiful, maintaining youthful energy, even in later years.

Here are some beautifying crystals I recommend you add to your collection:

Touted as the miracle stone of the 21st century, Shungite is said to be over 2 billion years old. It contains powerful antioxidants called fullerenes. These fullerenes neutralize free radicals and have the power to normalize cellular metabolism, stimulate the regeneration of skin cells and tissues, and provide anti-inflammatory properties. Perhaps one of its most remarkable abilities is that Shungite absorbs and neutralizes electromagnetic radiation (EMFs) that comes from cell phones, WiFi hot spots, and other sources of harmful radiation. You can carry Shungite in your bra or your purse, wear it as jewelry, or charge your water by placing a Shungite crystal in it overnight.

This anti-aging stone is known as the stone of the mermaids. Believed to bring the holder eternal youthfulness, aquamarine holds the natural energy of water. Serene and calming, this crystal is powerful in soothing the skin from inflammation. Lay a crystal grid of aquamarine on your face for a glamorous crystal facial to soothe redness and puffiness, brighten skin tone, and bring healing energy to the surface of the skin.

Believed to reverse the aging process, Cleopatra harnessed lepidolite as a rejuvenation stone. Known for relieving anxiety and providing tranquility and balance, this stone is perfect for instilling confidence and boosting positive thoughts. Since high levels of stress are toxic to the body, this crystal is just the thing for relieving anxiety and overthinking. Hold lepidolite in your hands while you meditate to tune into your communication centers and balance your chakras.

Rose Quartz

Though potent as a love and beauty crystal, rose quartz also holds powerful anti-aging benefits. With its soft pink color and soothing vibration, rose quartz rejuvenates the skin and helps to stave away fine lines. Its most valuable property is that it vibrates at a high energy of love, so you can feel beautiful, radiant, and confident in your own skin. Self love is key to feeling and looking like your most beautiful self. Take a smooth rose quartz crystal and gently massage your face and neck in circular motions, stimulating the lymphatic system and promoting blood flow under the skin.

How to Create Your Own Beautifying Water

Place your crystals in a glass bowl and cover them in filtered water or spring water. Set the bowl under the moon to absorb the moon’s energy. In the morning, drain the bowl into a glass or water bottle. Drink the water to raise your energetic frequency, or splash some on your face for an extra radiant glow.
