Let Jejune Magazine give you more insight into the lives and passions of Ashley and Lindsey Keefe. Read on to know more!

Where are you based?
Lindsey:
Las Vegas NV, but we have an apt in LA too.
Ashley: I’m in college in LA as well.

Can you tell us a bit about your childhood together and how you got inspired to go into the performing arts?
Ashley:
Lindsey and I have always been extremely close! I have considered Lindsey to be my best friend since she was old enough to understand me. One of my favorite things to do with Lindz growing up was play dolls and get dressed up. I always loved taking pictures and doing her makeup too. I’m grateful for her. What inspired me to get into the arts was my desire to have fun and create. I would consider myself to be a little performer. I took a lot of dance classes in and outside of school and loved to sing! I was an athlete and cheer leader too. A lot of my acting opportunities really came from the help of my mom, Christel Tyler-Keefe. She saw my buzz and supported me. She became my “momager” early on and continues to help me!

Lindsey: I love my big sister, she is my best friend. She always looks out for me and has my back! But it is funny how all this started by accident when we were at a ghost town in NV and Zak Bagans came up to my mom and asked if he could use Ashley and my brother as kids for a “Ghost Adventures” shoot. We really didn’t do anything after that not knowing the industry. Then a year later a professor at UNLV handed my mom a piece of paper with a casting phone number and said we would be great for an audition so call them. I auditioned and booked it out of like 100 kids. That was Longines Watches “Sharing Success” with Andre Agassi. We loved it, so we didn’t stop.

As sisters, do you feel you inspire each other, compete, or a little of both?
Lindsey:
It’s never a completion for us. We were taught in art that there is a place for everyone. It’s about self expression and when a door opens, if it’s right, go for it.

Ashley: 100% always inspiring each other. This industry is competitive, but we often lift each other up and encourage each other through our opportunities! We have been put up for the same roles, but we support each other regardless.

You both act and sing. What came first? Do you have a first love?
Ashley:
I used to come home from school and connect a microphone to a hand me down nascar radio and sing for hours in front of my mirror. This started as early as 4-5 years old. I was lucky when I got to appear in Ghost Adventures when I was six, after that I wanted to act all the time. I would consider both acting and singing my first loves. I consider myself to be a creative person, and these are two of my favorite ways to express my creativity!

Lindsey:
Definitely acting came first, but Ashley started singing at sporting events, National Anthems, and church leading worship really young. I love watching her onstage and I love her voice too. She inspires me. Then I discovered I LOVE singing as well. We’ve learned a lot from our coaches and can’t wait to produce what we’ve written.

You both not only sing, but you are singer-songwriters! Do you have any new music we should be looking out for? Do you often write music separately or together?
Ashley:
It’s been so much fun working with various producers and songwriting is so unique! I started writing when I was 14 and worked on several demos. I put out a cover of Harry Styles’ “Adore You” in 2021 with Producer David Kidd and a couple of Christmas covers with Tom Moralda. I enjoy the creative process, and can’t wait to release an original. Lindsey and I just collaborated for the first time writing a song in my bedroom one night. I was actually writing for myself but Lindsey came in, we heard a beat, and had a concept. We wrote the song (working title: Again) in 15 minutes. I think music is something we have taken our time on and nurtured, so hopefully those who support us will be hearing something soon!

Lindsey:
Love this question! We write independently and have our own styles, but the best was recently sitting down together and the most beautiful song was written and we can’t wait to get them all produced!

Ashley, we love that you use your voice for good, as you have sung for the Women's Leadership Conference at the MGM Grand and opened the National Conquer Chiari Walk Across America charity walk twice. Can you tell us about these experiences and why it was important to you to sing at these events?
Both events were very important to me and inspired me beyond words! I’ve always loved volunteering in any way I can whether through school clubs, church, and other initiatives. The Women’s Leadership Conference was amazing experience and I was so happy to support women! I’m big on empowerment. As for the National Conquer Chiari Conference, I hold this very close to my heart. My mom actually has Chiari Malformation and other health concerns. Everyday she gets up and fights, and I admire this. Everyone who I’ve met at these walks have shown their resilience as well. I hope that I can continue to use my platform to educate others about Chiari and also bring those battling Chiari hope.

Ashley, you are currently in ‘Kings of Los Angeles’, can you tell us about the show and your role as ‘Julia’?
I loved filming this show and had the chance to work with a great group of people including Juha Wuolijoki. The show is a Finnish series and it has a nice balance between drama and comedy! I played  the main character, Eero Lahti’s (Mikko Leppilampi) daughter. I was involved in many athletic scenes, which was fun. I grew up playing sports, but hadn’t done much work in TV/Film that included those types of scenes. Julia is a spunky character and I’m excited to see what happens in the future!

Lindsey, what pushed you to pursue a career in modeling?
I’ve always had a sparked interest in fashion so it really has always been something I’ve always wanted to pursue especially when I’d see people I know on the walls at stores when I was younger! I love that I can be myself and represent other teens.

Lindsey, you are known for your comedic personality. How did you find yourself doing comedy? Is it your favorite genre?
I’ve always been myself no matter what and I believe that makes things easier in certain ways. I genuinely love putting a smile on people’s faces so it’s not necessarily something I try to do but I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I’ve grown up in a very social family! I can’t wait to book a comedy!

You both got to act together in "Nightmare Gate Box". What was that experience like?
Ashley:
We love getting to act together anytime we can and we’ve had lots of fun together or various sets! In this project we were playing sisters and we had an emotional scene. We were grateful to work with familiar faces as well. Dan Hewitt Owens and Frank Parrillo were great to us when we first started pursuing acting!?

Lindsey:
That was fun because we were both young and got to play sisters when we were actually sisters!

Jejune loves that you two often volunteer together! You are both young ambassadors for Spreading the Love raising Autism awareness. Why was this organization important to you two?
Ashley:
Spreading the love is one of our favorite organizations because it fosters love and education about autism! Being able to work alongside the creator, Madison, has been such a special experience. She has a big heart and we enjoy sharing our thoughts to those around us!

Kindness is something we value highly and that is why we don’t allow bullying. In our PSA video, we shared our advice and thoughts on the topic. Although many institutions don’t allow bullying, it’s everywhere. As artists with platforms, we aim to encourage kindness and respect for everyone regardless of many things!  Like all causes we need to do our absolute best and use our platform to raise awareness.

Lindsey:
Causes like this one are very important for the symptoms of autism being known and helping people with diagnosis. No one should feel alone or different. When we have a better understanding and awareness we can help more.

You both also participated in a PSA for NoBully. Can you tell us a bit about that?
Lindsey:
NoBully gave us an opportunity to reach out and show that most everyone has a bullying story sadly and we are stronger together.

Finally, you advocate for Chiari Malformation Awareness through the charity Conquer Chiari. Can you tell us what Chiari Malformation is and why this issue is important to you?
Lindsey:
Chiari Malformation is a condition where your cerebellum can get displaced. It’s only corrected with brain surgery and we watched our mom fight that battle. We will always do our best to raise awareness. Unfortunately many people go years without a proper diagnosis because the symptoms affect the entire body. I hope everyone takes the time to look it up and learn more.

Ashley:
Chiari Malformation awareness is important to me because my mom struggles with this. For years, medical professionals didn’t necessarily understand it. It was hard on our family, and I know it can be hard on my mom. She was told it was “all in her head” and she said “I know it is”, that was true. Finally an MRI diagnosed her she had an answer after years of not understanding what was going on. Fortunately, there have been advancements as it is more common now. My goal is to help in any way I can and contribute to the awareness!

What is your motto in life?
Lindsey:
We can find so many beautiful things in the world so why allow yourself to sit in the ugly. i’m a very adventurous person so I enjoy exploring different things in life!

Ashley:
I think more recently I’ve decided to “live wild”. A friend told me this and it has stuck with me. We should be authentically ourselves and go for what we want! There will be setbacks and we’ll be faced with adversity but life is always worth living :) It doesn’t hurt to try.

It has been a rough few years, how have you two been staying positive?
Lindsey:
Surprisingly focusing on taking care of each other and thinking about what other people go through has kept us grateful for what we have. Gratitude keeps you hopeful and can give you a positive outlook.

Ashley:
a big way for me to stay positive is to listen to my body and stay aware of my emotions. I also like to unplug and do things I enjoy! This can be listening to music, driving, hanging out with friends, or even taking time to recharge by myself. I remind myself on bad days that it’s only 24 hours and I can control my reactions and try again.
