Where are you based?
We are based out of Lexington, Kentucky (Horse capital of the world and the best college basketball team ever — the University of Kentucky).

What inspired you to come together and create music?
Peyton and I are brothers, so we have been making music together our whole lives, but in 2017 started making music for a new project which ended up becoming RAGS AND RICHES.

How would you describe your music style? Are there any artists in particular that inspire your sound?
We always like to say we are genre-less because we love to blend styles so much! There are a lot of great artists that inspired us, but the closest comparison would be Queen because they never had one sound that defined them; they were just Queen.

Your fans are called “The Mob Squad”. How did this name come to be?
It is really a long story, but to sum it up I would say… “The Mob Squad” actually came from a super negative moment in our journey. Someone was talking trash about us and trying to drag our fans through the mud too. But instead of backing down, our fans, friends, and family rallied behind us hard. The person kept sarcastically saying, ‘Oh great, the Mob Squad is back at it again,’ and we were like—yep, they are. And we loved it. So we took that insult and turned it into a badge of honor. Now ‘The Mob Squad’ stands for loyalty, resilience, and showing up for each other no matter what.”

Congratulations on your new single “Yes We Will (Mob Squad)”. Can you tell us about what inspired this song?
Thank you! We actually wrote this one as an anthem to those fans who had been around for a long time and also to anyone who wants to rally behind us and become part of a bigger movement!

There is no doubt ”Yes We Will (Mob Squad)” is an anthem. What do you hope listeners gain from this song?
We hope when people hear it, they feel unstoppable. Like no matter who doubts them or what they’re up against, they’ve got that fire inside to keep pushing. It’s an anthem for the underdogs, the fighters, and the dreamers. We want listeners to walk away saying, ‘Yeah, I’ve got this. Watch me.’”

We also love your new song Devil In Disguise! It is so fun! Can you tell us the story behind this song?
Thank you! We LOVE how that one turned out! We actually got the inspiration from Elvis and his struggles with addiction, but made it relatable for anyone dealing with any kind of struggle in their life. Behind all of the dance vibes it has such a deeper meaning!

Your song “Wisdom” is a very empowering song with motivating lyrics. What inspired this song?
For sure! I started writing the chorus for it like three or four years ago and it sat for a long time! I wanted to write something about how everyone is a legend in the making no matter how far into this life you are, you can do something great! The line “every legend needs a mission” has become a staple for some fans and they even had that tattooed on them!

You have an upcoming EP on the way. Can you tell us a little bit about what we can expect to hear from it?
We do this fall! This EP really shares some personal stories that we have been hanging onto for quite a while. The songs we have written for this EP are 100% the strongest lyrics we have ever written!

You have partnered with the American Suicide Awareness Organization. Can you tell us about your involvement and what you do? Why did you choose to partner with the American Suicide Awareness Organization in particular?
We work with them for their walks that they do to raise funding to continue their mission. Suicide is something that really does break our hearts and we feel passionate to write songs and do everything in our power to help those struggling with mental health.

What advice would you give someone who might be struggling with their mental health?
You are loved and have soo much to offer this planet that you may not even comprehend yet. The world needs you. Even in your darkest moments, you are truly not alone.

Are there any upcoming projects you’re working on that we should look out for?
We have a new song and music video releasing June 27th that we are SUPER PUMPED about!!! It has been one that management and other parts of our team are very excited about!

It’s been a rough few years, and we expect at least four more. How have you been staying positive?
Life is never easy, but I truly believe things do get better. No one else should have the power to decide how rough your path will be. You have that power. And honestly, some of the greatest victories come when your back’s against the wall. That pressure? That’s where strength is built. You can win. You will rise. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

What is your motto in life?
I honestly live by my own lyric of Every Legend Needs A Mission lately!
