Joyce Penas Pilarsky Uses Her Fashion To Help Blossom A New Future For Others
Joyce Penas Pilarsky acquired her fashion inspiration from nature. The beautiful flowers on her garden captured her idea of transforming a closet into a magical garden. Nature is a perfect way to get inspiration from different colors and varieties of flowers, trees, butterflies, birds, patterns and textures. Taking inspiration from nature gives a fresh idea, vibrant and exciting designs.
Joyce Pilarsky is now celebrating her 10th year in the fashion industry. "My journey for my ten years in fashion wasn't that easy, I've faced a lot of challenges and lots of hard times. Thank God that I was able to surpass all the trials that I've faced. I always pray that God will continue to bless me with wonderful, hard working, honest and trustworthy people who I will be working with in the future. Who knows, maybe I will be able to celebrate another ten more years in fashion — of course if God permits. Remember, dreams do come true. If you give your plans to the Lord, ask for his guidance and follow your heart through hard work and determination, nothing can stop you from being successful!"
Every year, Joyce always make it a point to share and give back to the community. She helps different organizations which takes care of and shelters orphans, elderlies and street children. She has her own foundation, the Gintong Palad and Balikatan Foundation Inc. The purpose of the foundation addresses various humanitarian needs and the promotion of science and research, education, training and scholarships, international understanding, development aid, as well as the promotion of youth welfare, geriatric care, public health and welfare.
Apart from this, the Foundation also contributed to natural calamities and medical missions. Some of the significant projects are: Bahay at Yaman in St. Martin de Porres, children who have been mistreated or abandoned by their parents are gathered up off the street by father Boyet Concepcion. These children sleep partially cramped together in old buses. In order to improve these circumstances, Joyce Foundation helped them to put up a school building so that the children can grow up in more dignified surroundings.
Finally, there is the Floating school in Agusan del Sur for the Manobo children (tribe). Her foundation helped to build the classrooms in Bohol and also supports the victims of the super typhoon Haiyan.
