Skincare De La Heart

With there being so many beauty products on the market these days it is hard to know what to try. I’m personally new to the idea of lymphatic drainage, but as an all natural girl, it just makes sense! The way I see it, it is a three step process. First, you exfoliate your skin through dry brushing; makes sense, it is good to get rid of dead skin cells. Next, you shower to clean all that off. Finally, you use, basically, a massage tool with oil all over your body. I mean, who doesn’t want a full body massage?! I have only tried De La Heart’s kit a few times now, but I can say my skin feels softer and happier after the process. But don’t take it from me, we spoke to the pro herself, owner of De La Heart Giordana Vogel, to break down the lymphatic drainage process, all the nuances, and tell us a bit more about her business. Please read on!

The Effects of TV on the Health of the Next Generation

No-Face’s feast from Spirited Away, the grey stuff from Beauty and the Beast, and an instant Mcdonald’s microwave from Spy Kids are all things we dreamed about at some point of our childhood. Movie after movie, we saw characters stuff their faces with feasts we could only pester our mom for on our weekly grocery shop. Whilst seemingly harmless, the effects of such representations can have a bigger impact on the well-being of the next generation than we would expect.

The Best Brazilian Food Goes Vegan

Brazil is a diverse country, incorporating cultures from the most varied origins in its history and creative cuisine. If we think about how Brazilian gastronomy was developed, we can see segregation in historical influences. At first indigenous, then added to Portuguese (Portugal), African, and finally a blend of all migratory waves resulting in a unique gastronomic culture.

To bring a bit of the Brazilian diversity and maybe add new tastes to your day-to-day meal routine, I've decided to share the top three recipes that most represent Brazil, according to my Brazilian family and friends who participated in a poll. However, they did not know that those recipes, including dairy and meat, as mostly all renowned Brazilian dishes, would become Vegan.

The popular dishes included here start with the Brazilian Cheese Bread, usually eaten at breakfast or in a small afternoon break, followed by coffee. We then turn to Feijoada, a rich meal for lunchtime, and finally, we end at Brigadeiro, one of the top three candies in Brazil - if not the number one.

COVER - The Wellness Of Sustainability

In just a month it already feels like a new world. We have a president who wears a mask, recognizes science, and very importantly is making steps in the right direction for our environment. In a lot of ways, I feel that the pandemic has awaken us to what is truly important to us — our loved ones, our health, and our future. While we are navigating this current situation, it is very important to not forget about the other issues on hand. Climate change is hot on our heels! I mean, Texas is frozen over, while ice caps are melting.

We talk about sustainable improvements to our lives, but one of my favorite is fashion. Fashion is notorious for being very wasteful, but it doesn’t have to be! There is an ever increasing array of designers who are eco-friendly and amazing! But while I feel people are starting to notice this, we are not talking as much about one part of fashion that can also be sustainable and vegan, shoes! So, I thought, what would be a better way to show off some amazing sustainable shoe brands than on a contortionist! Side note: Victoria Gibbs doesn’t think she is a contortionist, but if she isn’t she is certainly up there for me. If you can put your feet over your head and put them on the ground, then I’m convinced you are a contortionist!

On addition to showing off amazing shoes in a cool way, Victoria talks with us about health, wellness, being very bendy, and her work with Lupus. To learn more about Victoria, please read our exclusive interview below.

We Will Never Attain True Health Without Addressing the Collective

As a healthcare practitioner and health coach, my primary concern is the health and wellbeing of patients. Truth be told, the more I study the field, the more I integrate my clinical background with traditional healing practices, the more I realize that we are not seeing the big picture of health. No matter what new medical advances are invented, what technology is implemented, or what techniques applied, there is a deeper issue at hand.
